Tonight, we would’ve made you proud, Dad. You know how rarely my brother, your son, calls for help, often too proud himself to admit that he needs it. One of the traits he got from you, without a doubt.
You would’ve been proud of him for asking and even as proud of me for being able to help. He came and was his most adult self in a financially and socially intimidating situation. Of course, I introduced him to everyone on the way in so that he’d be taken care of when I couldn’t be around, one of the traits I got from you, without a doubt.
You would be so proud at how we’re getting closer as we grow and I just wish that you could see it.
You were always proud of us, but days like these, I can feel you up there watching us, only getting prouder as time passes.
